Eucalyptus brachyandra
Small tree known as the Red Box, grows typically in and on rocky sandstone cliffs of the West and North Kimberley. Often only has a short trunk to 1 or 2m before branching.
Eucalyptus lirata
Small tree, called Leatherjacket due to the yellow stringy bark, from the central Kimberley.
Eucalyptus microtheca
Medium to large tree, with rough box-like bark on trunk, very small seed pods, grows on river flood plains and often called Coolabah Tree.
Eucalyptus oligantha
. Tall tree, known as Round-leaf Box tree from the North Kimberley
Eucalyptus pachyphylla
Small to medium Mallee to 3m from desert regions of the SE Kimberley and Pilbara. Called Red-bud Mallee for obvious reasons.
Eucalyptus miniata
Tall stately gum tree with large clustered orange flowers and large urn shaped capsules. It has a fibrous bark lower trunk and smooth upper trunk.
Eucalyptus argillacea
Medium tree from the central Kimberley, with silver grey leaves, box like bark, often called Mt House Box.
Eucalyptus brevifolia
Snappy Gum, found on sides and tops of ranges throughout the Kimberley and Pilbara, with similarities to E.leucophloia. Grows to 6-8m with a creamy trunk, small grey-green leaves, small capsules follow cream flowers.
Eucalyptus ceracea
Rare, tall Mallee from the Seppelt range near the King George River in the NE Kimberley, featuring large broad leaves and orange flowers.
